Hi there. I am Priyanka, newcomer at Auroville. I'm 43, and I teach eye exercises in Auroville. My journey into this eye-centric world started a bit unexpectedly. Growing up, I never needed glasses, and life was all good. Then came the IT sector, and with it, the marathon hours in front of a computer screen. Fast forward to my mid-thirties, and my eyes decided they had had enough.
The Struggle with Screens:
I found myself reaching for glasses to tackle the headaches and eye strain, especially when I was glued to my laptop. As I hit the big 4-0, headaches increased, and I needed lens with higher prescription.
Enter the School of Perfect Eye Sight:
I had known about the School of Perfect Eyesight, a unit of Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry for a while. However, because of their limited capacity, they only take in youth less than 25 years of age.
I have always seen miracles and unexpected help pouring in Auroville, whenever needed. I happened to meet Santosh didi, who manages the school when she was visiting Auroville. I requested her if I can learn the exercises, and she asked me to come to the center on one of the days. I decided to give their eye exercises a shot. It was a game-changer.
Two Months to Freedom:
I can't believe how quickly things turned around. With just two months of consistent eye exercises, I bid adieu to my glasses. The relief and newfound clarity were like a breath of fresh air.
Bringing Clear Vision Home:
This experience lit a fire in me. I wanted everyone in Auroville to know about these eye exercises that had transformed my world. So, armed with my newfound knowledge, I started sharing these exercises with friends in Auroville. It was during this time that I crossed paths with Aurosugan, the brains behind Aurokiya.
Aurokiya Collaboration:
Aurosugan and I hit it off, both passionate about holistic health. We decided to integrate these eye exercises into Aurokiya's offerings. The goal was simple – help the Auroville community see a bit clearer and embrace a healthier vision, both literally and metaphorically.
In a Nutshell:
So here I am, not just someone who stumbled upon eye exercises but someone who's on a mission to spread the word. Teaching eye exercises in Auroville isn't just a job for me; it's a calling. It's about helping others find the same clarity and freedom from glasses that I discovered. And, honestly, there's nothing more rewarding than seeing someone's eyes light up when they realize they can ditch the glasses too.
Cheers to clearer visions and a brighter Auroville!
